The Ancient Stone Mysteries of New England YouTube Trailer

Trying to Explain & Sum Up the Many Stonework Video Presentations

At the suggestion of YouTube, I’ve created a new “trailer” for my Ancient Stone Mysteries of New England YouTube Channel. Have a look!

It’s odd — I’m a writer, as you know. What you might not know is that I spent many years writing radio ad copy, coming up with creative and not-so-creative audio sales pitches for local businesses in the Burlington, Vermont and Plattsburgh, New York region, many of which were quite successful.

That’s not the odd thing. What is odd is that I have the hardest time and write my worst ad copy when trying to promote my own work. And I’m not sure why.

In part, it could be a question of detachment. I’ve never been good at compartmentalizing, I’m not built that way. If I’m writing about someone else’s business, I make claims based on what they tell me, simple and easy. When writing about my own stuff, maybe I’m thinking too much about what I’m saying, what I might be suggesting or promising, perhaps on too granular a level because I know too much, in a sense.

Another part stems from how difficult I find it to ask for attention and money for myself and my work. Which I know is ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, I mean — I do it. But it doesn’t come naturally. Never had any problem writing ads for others to ask.

All that admitted to, my hope is that this trailer does the Channel justice. And I suppose I should ask you to Subscribe to this Substack and help support my efforts. Please and Thank you.
